Pearland Best Body Challenge Winner – 2nd Runner Up
The Pearland Best Body Challenge 2nd Runner Up Winner was Margaret Rohde
BEFORE AFTER
BEFORE THE CHALLENGE:
To be honest, I really felt like a beached whale. Not so much on the "blubbery" side, although the holiday season did leave my body feeling rather bloated. Mostly, I felt moared, bogged down with my exercise routine (which had become just that, routine) and I felt like I was stuck in a rut with a serious lack of direction and motivation. I guess deep down I was really looking for something that would shove me off the beach and back into the water. When I heard some friends talking about the PBB Challenge, I dismissed it at first. I struggled with feeling comfortable about what I was doing for my body & overall health was enough. But I am competitive by nature, so I thought that maybe this 6-weeks challenge, knowing that I’d be supported by other participants, might just be the push I needed. Then I went and tried to slip into my "skinny jeans" –that made up my mind. Nothing like putting on clothes you once looked good in and always gave you a self-esteem boost –and seeing a bit of muffin top in the mirror before you! Yuck!
How did you feel 3-weeks into Your Best Body Challenge?
I made up my mind that I was going to put my full efforts into this Challenge from the start. I added in some cardio workouts (and I hate to sweat), went to a bootcamp for the first time (and almost vomited twice) and meticulously journaled the 1300 calorie/day meal plan (and I almost starved to death the 1st week). But I started to see the results pretty quickly. I’ve never been one to step on the scale, but weighing myself every couple of days really helped keep me accountable for my efforts (or on occasion, the lack of effort). Also what kept me going were the 3 string bikinis in my closet that I wanted to look presentable in by Spring Break!
Where are you now after 6 weeks?
Even though I’m down 10 pounds since the start of the challenge, I still feel like I have more to go to make this a true lifestyle change. My mindset is that I can do anything for 6-weeks. But I know that the difficulty is in keeping it going. The hardest part for me is going to be continuing carving out time for the proper amount & type of exercise, although I have learned a great deal about how to maximize my exercise time for more effective results. But as far as the food/diet portion of the Challenge is concerned, I feel I’ve really made a permanent change. Not that I can eat canned tuna on salt-free saltines for lunch every day until I die, but I’ve mastered choosing healthier foods for myself and my family. My husband has been very encouraging as well, and he’s seeing the pounds drop just from eating the more healthy options I’ve been cooking.
Again from our Method Evolution family…we congratulate everyone for their participation and success through the challenge!
